I would definitely recommend this book to students to read and have them watch for how Tooter changes through the book.
This is where you can write about the book you are reading, post your thoughts, write a recommendation, and have fun talking about books.

Mr. Jacobson's Books
I have been reading Tooter Pepperday and have been finding it really fun to read to my class. Tooter is a girl with an attitude who has been forced to move from her home to a farm with her Aunt. She's acting a little like a brat, but I'm pretty sure it will change because on the cover of the book she has a big smile.
I would definitely recommend this book to students to read and have them watch for how Tooter changes through the book.

I have visited many of your students blog site and I see that they are really enjoy blogging about their books.
ReplyDeleteMr. Jacobson has been reading Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets to his wife at nights. She is a big fan of the book series and it helps her get to sleep.
ReplyDeleteThinking about the movie and the book, I realized that I read about Nearly Headless Nick's Deathday Party (which is the opposite of a birthday party) and how Harry, Ron, and Hermione went to it, but in the movie it is completely gone.
My wife and I also realized there is a good amount of the storyline in the movie that is gone when it comes to house elves as well, but we felt that since there needed to be cuts done it was probably ok that the ghost and house elf sections were cut out. The directors weren't going to cut out parts from the main storyline.

To D6,
ReplyDeleteI am trying to figure out this posting problem. I am thinking it could have to do with the password we were having to put in so you could post. I've disabled that, so it will be especially important for you to say To and From when you post.

ReplyDeleteI am also reading a book titled The Eye of the World, by Robert Jordan. This book is a fantasy book about three young men who have fled from their town because evil is searching for them. They have to trust a witch and a knight that they've just met to help protect them.
I have found this book very enjoyable to read because I like fantasy books. I like reading about monsters, adventuring, and action.
I would recommend this book to a high school student or adult because of some of the descriptions in the book and because of its length, 814 pages. I will be spending a long time reading this book since I don't get to read as often as I like.
As a reader of this post, are there any adventure books with action that are shorter that you can recommend to me?

ReplyDeletewhat are you reading? Who is your favorite athor? What is your favorite book?

To Izabella,
ReplyDeleteI have been reading a book from the Wheel of Time Series called Eye of the World by Robert Jordan. I don't make time to read it as often as I would like, but it is a fantasy book about good versus evil with warriors and monsters and magic. I remembered trying to read it when I was in high school and I didn't really like how difficult it was for me to read.
One of my favorite authors is probably Orson Scott Card. He wrote a book called Ender's Game, which may be in the process of being made into a movie in the next few years. This book was about a young boy, Ender, who was forced to try to save the world from an alien race of bugs.
My favorite book might be Ender's Game, but I also liked another series by Orson Scott Card called Seventh Son. This book was about young boy who was the seventh son of a seventh son and therefore gave him magical powers to manipulate the world. The book didn't have "magic" but was called the person "knack" or talent that they have. His knack was to be a "maker" and so he had power over all materials of the world to make what he wanted.
As you may have noticed, my favorite genres are probably Fantasy and Science Fiction. Many books in those genres I've liked.
